Stability in the Split Second
It is ok to hold onto a fleeting moment.
Autumn is nearly over. The path outside our house is covered in a stream of leaves. Yellow and brown, flowing down the street, joining together in clumps because of last nights rain. They form their own shoreline, meandering down the pavement until it meets the road. Soon they will be gone, leaving little trace behind.
As you know I do love autumn, probably due to the intense colours and the golden light that is low enough to light through the last leaves on the trees. But autumn also reminds me of how I would love to gather and bottle up the memory of the season so I can to take it with me through the coming months.
Life is busy, and often doesn’t come with a showreel with a golden hue and often the frames are filled with the boring, the busy, the hard and downright ugly, most of which doesn’t make it from the cutting room floor. It can be easy to feel guilty for missing the good moments purely because we are so busy and life feels full.
